The newly constructed Harvest House Apartments is located at 300 North 11th Street in Temple.  The building houses eight 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for families and the elderly.  The rents vary with unit size and are comparable to market rates.

Effective January 1, 2014, all CTHC apartments are smoke free.
All household members and/or guests are not allowed to smoke inside the apartments.
Interior common areas will continue to be smoke free.

Smoking is allowed outside the apartments in the following areas; patios, balconies, breezeways (but not directly outside another household's entrance door or apartment window) and outside the 20' area already posted for common area entrances.  Electronic cigarettes are allowed inside units.


Amenities.  All units are cable TV ready and have central heating and air conditioning.  The resident pays for electricity, water and sewer.  Trash removal is provided at no cost.    A stove, refrigerator and dishwasher are furnished in all units as well as washer and dryer connections.  All units are electric and energy efficient.  There is also a fenced community space for residents to relax in their own outdoor area.

How Do I Apply?
Applications can be submitted electronically via the link provided below.

If you need assistance completing the electronic application, you can come to the Temple Housing Authority office between the hours of 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday (except holidays).

A $35.00 application fee per household is required in the form of a money order or cashier's check at the time the application is submitted.  It can also be paid with a credit card by clicking on the "Pay Application Fee" link below.

                                                              Tenant Selection Criteria


On the application, you must provide the following information:
  Current and previous tenancy for at least the last five (5) years that includes the landlord's name, current phone number, and the address where you lived, complete with any apartment numbers.
  You must provide Character References that are NOT friends, relatives or co-workers, AND they must have known you for at least six (6) months.  Acceptable Character References can include past or present employment supervisors, pastors at church, or neighbors.

What Else Will I Need To Do?
When you submit the application, you must also provide the following original documents for verification:
  The most recent six (6) pay stubs for all adult members of the household.
  A valid state issued picture ID for all adult members of the household.
  Social security cards and birth certificates for all members of the household.
♦  All adults must come to the office at 700 West Calhoun to finish the application process.

If you are unable to provide the required documents, call the office number listed below and request an extension.

Application Fee

A $35.00 application fee per person over the age of 18,
or $35.00 per married couple, is required.
Your application will not be processed until we receive your application fee,
and the fee is non-refundable.
